Advanced Language Development and Methodology

Who is the course for?

This course is aimed at teachers with a good level of english, who are currently woring with students at secondary or tertiary levels.

Course aims

The course aims to help participants to
  • refresh and update their knoledge of the english language
  • gain some new techniques for their practical classroom teaching.
Course programme

Language development

This component will focus on style and register, recent changes in the language and modern idiomatic and colloquial language.

Methodology

These sessions will give participants practical ideas that they will be able to incorporate immediately into their classrooms to reinvigorate their teaching. sessions will include topics such as process writing, using drama activities, teaching pronunciation, using literary texts, presenting and practising grammar in more communicative ways, developing listening skills and using multimedia with students.

Why come to bell Saffron Walden?

Bell Saffron Walden is a residential centre set in delightful grounds which can accommodate up to 250 students. It is particularly well equipped with sports and leisure facilities as well as an extensive study centre, language laboratory and air-conditioned multimedia suite. The tutors are practising teachers and trainers, many of whom have written language teaching material. Participants on our teacher's courses can opt to stay in the school or in a local home. Saffron Walden is a quiet market town with a welcoming local community.
