Language and Literature
Who is the course for?
This course is for experienced teachers of English with a good standard of English, working with secondary or adult students.
Course aims
- examine current developments in teaching methodology and materials for integrating literature and language teaching,
- extend participants’ own knowledge of English
The course is taught through a series of informal lectures, seminars and workshops.Topics can include
- creative writing
- using literary texts as a teaching resource
- literary criticism
- practical classroom ideas for teaching different literary genres

Optional self access in the Study Centre
The staff are practising teachers and trainers, many of whom have written language teaching material. Bell Cambridge is located in an elegant group of buildings with beautiful gardens in a residential area in the south of the city. The school has tennis courts, a football pitch and facilities for volleyball and aerobics. Participants on our teachers’ courses are accommodated in local homes. Self-catering accommodation in the city centre is also available.
